Server Guide

Towns

Towns are player-run communities where members can build together, share facilities, and protect their land. Joining a town is encouraged, but players may remain independent.

Joining a Town

After completing 30 minutes of active gameplay, while you get familiar with the server and gear up in the resource world, you can apply to join a recruiting town.

Towns are not open-join. A mayor, deputy, or recruiter must approve your request. Recruiting towns can be found through the recruitment board at spawn, Discord, or the town listing.

New residents usually receive a free residential plot prepared by the town.

Creating a Town

Players cannot create towns directly with a command. To found a town, submit a request through Discord containing:

  • The proposed town name and mayor
  • Any founding members
  • Your preferred biome or region
  • Any other information, such as the type of settlement you want to build, if the town will be open, etc

One founder is enough, although applications with two or more committed founders will be prioritized. A staff member will approve the location and create the town.

Town Land

Town territory is divided into chunk-based claims. Claims protect buildings, containers, farms, and other property from unauthorized changes.

A town’s claim allowance is based on its number of residents. Claims should normally be connected and should not block roads, surround other towns, or create long claim corridors.

Town land may be used for:

  • Personal residential plots
  • Roads and public spaces
  • Shared farms and workshops
  • Markets and shops
  • Large collaborative builds

Town leaders decide how land is organized and which plots residents may claim.

Town Roles

Mayors manage the town, its residents, claims, permissions, and plots.

Deputies assist with town management, planning, and land claims.

Recruiters review membership requests and welcome new residents.

Residents may build on their plots, use shared facilities, and participate in town projects.

Command Description
/town join <name> Request to join or join an inviting town, depending on its settings.

/accept Accept a pending town invitation when prompted.

Leaving a town may cause you to lose access to your personal plot and town facilities. Move important belongings before leaving.

Plots

/plot unclaim Return your personal plot to the town.
/plot info View information about the plot you are standing in.

Command Description
/tc <message> Send a message to town chat.
/tc Toggle town chat as your active chat channel.
/g Return to global chat, where supported.
/nc <message> Send a message to nation chat if your town belongs to a nation.

Every town has a private Discord channel for its residents. Messages sent there are shared with the town’s in-game chat, and messages sent with /tc appear in the Discord channel.

Always check which chat channel is active before sending private or sensitive messages.

Leadership Commands

These commands are generally limited to mayors, deputies, or recruiters.

Command Description
/town add <player> Invite a player to the town.
/town kick <player> Remove a resident from the town.
/town rank add <player> <rank> Assign a town rank such as deputy or recruiter.
/town rank remove <player> <rank> Remove a town rank.

/town set board <message> Change the message residents see when joining.
/plot forsale 0 Make the current plot available for residents to claim for free.
/plot notforsale Remove the current plot from availability.

Town claims must follow the server’s placement rules. Claims that surround other towns, block public roads, or create thin corridors will be removed by staff.

Plot Permissions

Plot owners and town leaders can control who may interact with land.

Command Description
/plot set perm on Enable all standard permissions on the current plot.
/plot set perm off Disable all standard permissions on the current plot.
/plot set perm <group> <action> <on/off> Change a specific permission.

Permission groups commonly include:

  • resident
  • ally
  • outsider

Permission actions commonly include:

  • build
  • destroy
  • switch
  • itemuse

For example, /plot set perm outsider switch off. This prevents players outside the town from using doors, buttons, levers, and similar objects on the plot.

Be careful when changing permissions. Incorrect settings may allow other players to access containers or modify builds.

Nations

Nations are optional alliances between two or more towns. They may provide a shared identity, chat, events, transportation projects, trade agreements.

Nations do not allow conquest, raiding, warfare, or access to another town’s private property.

Useful nation commands include:

Command Description
/nation or /n View information about your nation.
/nation <name> View information about another nation.
/nation list View all nations.
/nation online View online players in your nation.
/nation spawn Teleport to the nation spawn, where available.
/nc <message> Send a message in nation chat.

Leaving or Changing Towns

Players may leave a town or apply to another one, provided the new town accepts them. Personal plots and buildings remain subject to the town’s rules after leaving.

Town membership, leadership, and claims reset at the beginning of each new season.

Use /towny help, /town help, or /plot help in-game to view additional commands available to your role.
